Carmen Orban, the mistress of Dumitru Martin, the Romanian who kept the FBI on edge for over two years until his arrest in San Francisco in the most notorious corruption case in the USA in the last 60 years, was appointed by Marcel Ciolacu as health adviser in his government. Later, she was elected senator for Buzău under the Social Democratic Party (PSD).
Martin was sentenced to 13 years in a federal prison for acts of corruption involving senior officials in the US Army. The connections between Marcel Ciolacu’s former health adviser and Dumitru Martin, the Romanian investigated by the FBI and later convicted by US courts, seem to have continued even after his incarceration.
“Paradoxically,” Carmen Orban was promoted as a PSD candidate in Buzău County’s senator list. Unsurprisingly, the “mistress” Carmen Orban secured a senator seat in Electoral District No. 10 Buzău on December 1, 2024, which was validated on December 20, 2024.
